What is Thrive Across America?
Thrive Across America is an online physical activity program where you travel from Maine to Hawaii, along a virtual route. As you record your personal physical activity minutes, you will travel across the U.S., win exciting prizes and support your DU team during our 8-week challenge.
Who can participate?
All current DU employees are eligible to participate (NO students. This means if your primary status at DU is a student). The first 250 individuals to register will receive an armband or SPIbelt! Everyone will receive a t-shirt! Whether you’re just starting out or an experienced “thriver”, Thrive Across America gives you simple tools to track your progress and see results. You can increase your daily activity and improve your health no matter what your interests or ability.
How does it work?
Each time you record physical activity minutes you move along a virtual route that winds through the United States. Aim for at least 30 minutes of physical activity, five days a week.
When does the program start?
- Registration and team formation opens Tuesday, September 10, 2013.
- All teams must be formed by Monday, October 7, 2013.
- You may begin recording your activity on Tuesday, September 24, 2013.
- The team competition will end on Monday, November 18, 2013, but you may continue logging your activity and using all the fun features in Thrive Across America through September 23, 2014.
How does the team competition work?
Team participation is optional—and a lot of fun. Each day you record 30 or more minutes of physical activity, you earn a Thrive Across America star for your team. The more stars your team earns, the higher the score. The team competition runs September 24 to November 18. The deadline to have your activity count toward the team score is November 19.
